Career:
Before I started primary school and throughout my time at JFS I always wanted to be a journalist. The main attraction was I felt it was my only chance of seeing something of the world. The facts confirm I never made it but I could've done as I will explain! I attended an interview at the Manchester Evening News (in Fleet Street) and then heard nothing. My Mother was urging me to get on with my life and I became a barrister's clerk. I was very fortunate with my first job because two of the barristers took a liking to me. They were also Jewish and lifelong Spurs fans. They made me feel very much at home and used me as an excuse to get out of their matrimonial homes by taking me to football matches all over the UK. So, when the Manchester Evening News offered me the job two months later I turned it down because I was enjoying my work in the Temple. I remain a Barrister's Clerk and work at 7, King's Bench Walk in the Temple where I am the Senior Clerk.

Life (as at August 2003):
I was married in 1985. I got divorced in 1993. I have a son of 18 (Daniel) who's studying Computers etc., and he is doing a Uni type course from home (ideally he wants to work in the computer fields of Graphic Design or Media related work - any offers of assistance or help will be very much appreciated).

I live in Clayhall (near Ilford) with my partner Jacquie. We have been together for about 8 years. She has two children, a daughter aged 23 (Lindsey) and a son aged 17 (Jeorge). I've been lucky with life and reckon I've "been there, done it and got the t-shirt". I expect (and hope) you have also!

I am still a keen sports follower eg footie, gym work etc., and keep myself fit. I am very pleased that through the friends reunited and Susie's websites I have met up again with some of my very good friends from the JFS days. Hello to anyone who remembers me and if you've not been in touch recently drop me a line on : bern@mistral.co.uk Thanks, Bern.
